On Friday, April 8 there was a two vehicle accident which left a teen dead.
According to Fultondale police the accident happened at about 10 p.m. when Jamie Devlin was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze east along Carson Road. Another vehicle heading westbound crossed the center line and hit the Chevy.
Both Devlin and his nephew, 19 year old Dakota Michael “Cody” Cole who was the front seat passenger, were taken to UAB Hospital where Cole went to the Intensive Care Unit and later died there on April 19. Devlin is now recovering from his injuries.
Cole was known as “Big Country” by his friends and was a 2015 graduate of Pinson Valley High School.
The driver of the other vehicle was also hospitalized, but is expected to recover.
The crash remains under investigation.
