On Wednesday night, December 9, a child died following a single vehicle crash in Tuscaloosa County.
According to Alabama State Troopers the accident happened shortly after 8 p.m. on Ebenezer Church Road. A 2003 Nissan Xterra being driven by 34 year old Jeremy Franklin of Northport was driving and the unnamed 12 year old child was a passenger along with three others.
The vehicle left the road some 10 miles northeast of Northport for reasons as yet unknown, and left the road hitting several trees. The child, who was not wearing a seat belt was taken to the Children’s of Alabama Hospital in Birmingham, where death was pronounced shortly after.
The driver was uninjured but the other three passengers were all taken to hospital for treatment where their current condition is unknown.
The wreck is still under investigation.
